Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born on March 26, 1991 and professionally referred to as Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the first female artist to sign with J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. On October 21, 2016, she released Pho, her debut EP under the Dreamville Records label. That was the day she gained her first notoriety. Shea Butter Baby her debut album was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox has been uploading her music since 2012 with her release of her first mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. The year 2014 saw Ari Lennox continued uploading her songs online, as well as her own single Bound. In July of 2015, she was featured on Omen's album Elephant Eyes in the song Sweat It Out. J. Cole was interested by her talent and was looking to collaborate together with Rihanna. The official signing ceremony was held to Dreamville Records on 8 December. In the release album Revenge of the Dreamers II which she was featured on, she sang the song Backseat along with Cozz. In October 2016 she dropped her debut EP, Pho. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's song Change and performed as an opening act on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in the year 2017. In 2018, she performed in two tracks, including EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song and Bas's Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on July 16, 2018. The music video later released in September. On the 9th of November, she released two additional singles, the 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. Then on the 13th of November two singles called No One and pedigree. They then teamed up as a guest on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track titled Shea Butter Baby on November 16 and released as a single in February, 2019, for her debut album of the same name. In February of 2019 a music video was released to promote the song. It already has over three million hits on YouTube within the debut week. In December 2018 she was performing as a support act on From East Atlanta With Love Tour. From East Atlanta With Love Tour with 6LACK.
